We are proud to announce the winners of the 2026 Yazoo County Spelling Bee. This year’s competition was a tremendous success, with over 40 students advancing to the district level. We commend all participants for their hard work, dedication, and academic excellence.

1st Place: Karson Taylor - McCoy Elementary School - 2nd Grade
2nd Place: Edonimas Perry - McCoy Elementary School - 1st Grade
3rd Place: Ariane Rance - McCoy Elementary School - 3rd Grade
These outstanding students will advance to compete in the Online Semi-Finals Bee. Important upcoming dates are listed below:
February 17–18: Online Semi-Finals Bee
February 19: Makeup Day for the Online Semi-Finals
February 20–21: Announcement of students advancing to the Mississippi Spelling Bee; parents will be notified and provided registration forms
February 25: Deadline to register for the Mississippi Spelling Bee in Columbus, MS
March 27–28, 2026: Mississippi Spelling Bee Competition – Columbus, Mississippi
