Yazoo City Municipal School District is pleased to share a new video tutorial designed to help parents and students access required summer reading materials quickly and easily. The tutorial walks families through the district's digital reading libraries, available through Savvas myView Literacy for students in grades 3–5 and Savvas myPerspectives for students in grades 6–12.
Both programs are state-approved, district-adopted High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) that include a digital library for all YCMSD students at no additional cost to parents. Students can access their assigned summer reading book at any time using their district login credentials through Clever.
The video covers three simple steps: logging in through Clever on the district website, locating and opening the assigned reading book in Savvas, and accessing additional summer reading resources — including choice boards and reading logs — through the Parents and Students section of the YCMSD website.
Families can access the tutorial at Summer Reading Tutorial, and all summer reading resources by visiting www.yazoocity.k12.ms.us, clicking the Parents and Students menu, and selecting Summer Reading Program.
