Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School Advances to Science Bowl Semifinals for Second Consecutive Year
On February 7, 2026, Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School proudly represented the Yazoo City Municipal School District at the 2026 Mississippi Regional Science Bowl, hosted by the Mississippi School of Mathematics and Science, located in Columbus, Mississippi, on the campus of Mississippi University for Women.
For the second consecutive year, Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School advanced to the semifinal round of the Mississippi Regional Science Bowl, reinforcing the schoolโs growing strength and consistency in STEM achievement.
This year, the district was represented by two competitive teams composed of the following students:

Chanelle Clark

Gregory Esters
Kameron Jones
Elijah Parks
Corrina Taylor
Tayvion Sims
Kennydi Carter
Marianna Green
These scholars competed in a rigorous academic competition covering life science, earth and space science, chemistry, physics, energy, and mathematics. The Science Bowl demands deep content knowledge, collaboration, discipline, and the ability to respond accurately under pressure.
Out of the two teams representing Yazoo City, one team advanced to the semifinals, marking the second consecutive year that Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School has reached this level of competition.
