FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Our students enthusiastically participated in the Veterans Affairs partnership project by decorating donation boxes that will be used to collect non-perishable food items for Veterans. Under the guidance of their teachers and staff, students contributed their creativity and time to make this initiative meaningful. The gifted students, led by Mrs. Alma Rogers, decorated one box with the help of Kylee Alexander, Jamelia Brown, Jermiyah Effinger, Maliah Granderson, and Cordashia Stokes. In addition, the front office staff, including Ms. Moore, TA, Mrs. Perry, Ms. Shelby, and Ms. Washington, came together to complete two boxes, demonstrating the strong spirit of collaboration across the school community.

Beyond these efforts, students in Coach Stan’s 7th Grade Physical Education classes and Ms. Kenya Lindsey’s 6th Grade Science classes joined in to decorate boxes, with valuable support from custodian Mrs. Banks. These groups, alongside their peers, added vibrant and creative touches that reflect their commitment to service. This project not only gave students a chance to express their creativity but also allowed them to directly support Veterans in our community through service-based learning. Their efforts highlight the importance of school and community partnerships, and the decorated boxes will serve as a visual reminder of our students’ dedication to honoring and supporting local Veterans.
