Suicide Prevention Training

 

In accordance with House Bill 263, Mississippi Department of Education requires that all school staff must have suicide prevention training. This includes bus drivers, cafeteria staff, custodians, teachers, administrators, security…everyone. After this year, only new employees will be trained. 

This training will be done online at your own pace. See training links and instructions below. More resources can be found at the Mississippi Department of Education's Suicide-Bullying Prevention site at http://www.mdek12.org/SBR

-Go to the Educators tab
-Choose online training
-Left side of page choose Login or Create New Account
-Choose Courses the 2017-18 National Version-Making Educators Partners In Youth Suicide Prevention:Act on Facts.
This contains six modules to be completed.

-Go to "Get Involved"
-Choose Educator, Youth Worker,
Coach
-Choose Professional Development Series
-Choose Mississippi under "State" drop down menu
-Under My Courses click Two-Hour Courses
